Amy joined the Empower Me Program in 2016 and was previously exposed to the program through her work with Fortis BC, a founding sponsor. As an energetic and solution-focused individual, she enjoys building partnerships, especially when they work toward making our world a greener place.
Amy received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism/Marketing from the University of Arizona and completed Liberal Studies at Colorado College. Her past volunteer experience includes acting as a Board Director for the Canadian Public Relations Society, Chapter Liaison for the International Association of Public Participation, and as a Chair for the Warm Hearts Employee Charitable Foundation.
Originally from the US, Amy immigrated to Canada in 1996 and began working for FortisBC, initially as an advertising writer then as an Emergency Program Manager and a Community & Aboriginal Relations Manager. She has also held roles as a Regional Manager for the Master Builders’ Association in Western Australia, and as a copywriter and Creative Director for advertising agencies in San Francisco.
